As a dancer, I was never a huge yoga fan. I found it boring and too easy, too relaxed. It wasn’t until I started looking for something to ease the hamstring and low back pain and my increasing stiffness as a consequence. I came across these yoga based exercises and it contributed so much to better flexibility, that I decided to add it to my daily routine. I recently accomplished the certification for Gravity yoga teacher and I am sharing some of the exercises with you today.
It simultaneously affects your connective tissues and your nervous system and it delivers big lasting mobility results, which was exactly what I needed for myself.
Mobility is the ability to move a joint through a range of motion. Mobility is what gets you out of bed in the morning, what gives you the ability to reach for a cup from the cabinet, and what allows you to sit in a deep squat. When you move your joints through their range of motion, you’re consistently giving the body feedback to keep or gain a range of motion. These exercises will help with just that.
